The metric equivalent.
The abstracts and camera ready documents for activities associated with the Electrochemical Society are specified using the North-American paper standard, the 8.5x11 inch paper. This creates unnecessary difficulties for people who have available the A4 format, which is a bit narrower and longer.

However, this does not have to be. We found out that the A4 format works for the purpose of camera ready submissions quite well if two conditions are met:

1. The top and the left margins are the same as specified.
2. The text itself has the width and height as specified.

This will leave a narrow right margin and quite wide bottom margin, which is all right.
