It is with great sadness to report that Glassblower Daniel Edwards died in a motorcycle accident just east of Rochelle on Wednesday, April 23. Dan's wife, Diane, a long-time secretary in the Department of Family, Consumer, and Nutrition Sciences (FCNS), was traveling with him when the accident occurred. Diane continues to recover at a healthcare center in Greenfield, Wisconsin. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their family and friends.
Dan was a member and special friend of the NIU community and the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry since 1991. He and Diane had been planning to retire in July 2008.
Dan had a passion for life. He had many, many good friends, and truly adored his family. Dan, so giving and kind, will be sorely missed.
